HI so it's been a while since I wrote a journal anyways I just want to share a project I'm super excited about
it's been more than a year since I wrote/worked on a legit many-chapter fanfiction, I've just been too stressed out and busy to concentrate on something like that, and I've really missed having something like that in the background to work on. A few days ago I took an idea for a sort of mashup of Tokyo Ghoul and Mad Max: Fury Road and ran with it...and suddenly somehow I find myself about 18,000 words deep, with a seven-chapter finished first draft and lots of ideas how to slap it into something sharable. I don't have anything to post yet, but I'm super super excited and I wanted to share that it's coming up!! It's going to explore a world where ghoul/human conflicts brought about the apocalypse, and (at least in the Australian desert portion of the world the story takes place) ghouls are the ones who reorganized society, drawing on their super strength and bitter hatred of how things used to be to cruelly enslave most humans. Then a group of oppressed humans and ghouls who don't really get along steal a war rig and make a run for a better life, and maybe just maybe the things they learn on that journey will help create a better society that respects everyone. The fic draws from a story that's a tragedy and a story that's anything but, so that's leading to a really interesting thematic landscape; it's going to be called Hope is a Thing with Fetters, and I can't wait to share it with everyone!! (also due to the nature of the source material it's gonna be really dark, not a family friendly story nope nope nope fyi)

Slowly Moving Accounts
I'm going to move to this account: @CactusChowder and I'm going to keep posting here for a bit so people know where to find me. My real name (My "I'm nonbinary and I'm going to be called this now, hell yeah" name) is Jackie, so I'm going to start signing art with my initials now, JB. Tav is still one of my names, but I want to generally switch to Jackie. 'Tavoriel' comes from Tolkein elvish. It means woodpecker lady. My sibling and I were really into Lord of the Rings as preteens, so I wanted an elf name...which would, of course, represent an invincible fantasy persona. Things at home were toxic and unpredictable - not the worst anyone's ever had it, but confusing and difficult for a kid. The websites that told you your real name translated into elvish didn't give me a name I really liked, so I went with an elvish word that sounded nice, 'tavor' (for woodpecker) and made a name out of it. An elf name would also declare a preference for androgeny, which I didn't have other words for at
Dog Breeds for Adoptables?
What dog breeds do you guys want to see designs for? Is there a breed I've already used that you'd want to see other designs for? IF you'd be interested in buying a design if you liked it, what's your price range? Should I put a design on hold and give you first dibs? Any takers for a custom? (If you just wanna see xyz breed in a cool outfit, that's just as helpful!)
Commissions Open - 5 slots [CLOSED!]
EDIT: These are closed for now because I ran out of energy! I'll put up a new commission post when I'm in a good spot to take commissions again! You know what's really NEEDED during a global virus pandemic? Cool pictures of dogs. Come and get some why don't you. I base my prices on a $20/hr guideline, and I can work with a budget if you don't mind a drop in "quality" (but it's all quality!). Past commission examples - 2 hrs || $40 45 mins || $15 I expect flat color outfit designs/adoptables that aren't sketches to be $30-$40, not because the drawing itself is complicated in a technical sense, because designing the thing takes extra time, like drawing an existing character doesn't. I may need a few weeks for each commission because irl can be busy, but I will stay in contact with you about the progress of your piece! Slot 1 - CLOSED Slot 2 - CLOSED Slot 3 - [CLOSED] Slot 4 - [CLOSED] Slot 5 - [CLOSED] 💖 Thanks for reading, stay safe, wash your hands! 💖
Commission Info Update
I'm planning on making a journal or ad with prices for commissions and custom adopts with examples because somehow I never got around to making one of those? The tldr is that I aim for $20/hr. If you're working with a budget & don't mind a sketch, I can probably make something pretty damn good that fits within that budget. It may take me a few weeks to be able to accept commissions/customs etc. because I've been having some trouble with eye strain. I ordered some glasses designed to reduce screen glare, and I've been working on spending less time staring at the dang computer in the first place, so hopefully I'll be back to drawing more soon! I know a few people have reached out over the last few weeks, and I'm looking forward to getting back in the swing of things as soon as it makes sense to! I'm not like, dead, so if anybody really wants something done before Christmas, let me know & we can talk! I just can't take on like 20 projects in a row. I hope you guys have been
